The Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Howard University will play a vital role in advancing the goals of the federally funded project by engaging in both fundamental and applied research on a full-time basis. The postdoc will be expected to apply advanced scientific and technical knowledge to address complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate closely with other researchers and stakeholders. Specific responsibilities and qualifications will include, but are not limited to, the following:
The candidate must have his/her Ph.D. degree (in EE, CS, CpE, Math or related field) before joining Howard University and should have adequate research experience demonstrated through publications in top-tier international conferences or journals in the areas of cybersecurity, AI and machine learning.
Develop, design, and evaluate integration of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence/machine learning for emerging cyber physical systems and autonomous systems by working independently as well as in a group setting.
Design, perform, and analyze experiments and develop technical research papers/manuscripts to be published in high-impact journals and highly selective conferences. Have programming experience and fluency in one or more programming languages such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
Work with other researchers within and outside the institution after consultation with the supervisor/PI.
Have competence in both oral and written English and ability to articulate concisely and in a professional manner.
Share research results at conferences, seminars, and meetings. Stay updated by reading current literature and attend academic meetings and events. Manage GPUs and equipment.
Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal Investigator, particularly those involving research training, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented interdisciplinary environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor/PI.
